60 years after his birth, Palermo pays tribute to Keith Haring (1958-1990), one of the most significant contemporary artists of the 20th century, whose popularity is comparable to that of Andy Warhol. From 29 June to 16 September 2018, several works by the American artist from prestigious public and private collections will be exhibited in the splendid setting of Villa Zito.

There is great expectation for the exhibition Keith Haring "Party of Life" organized by Contemporary Concept, aimed at spreading knowledge about the life and work of the artist and presented for the first time in Sicily. This important event, dedicated to the genius of New York streetculture, wants to invite us to a collective reflection inspired by his social message and to commemorate the profoundly innovative value of the work of this American artist who has left his mark all over the world.

In fact, Haring's work summarizes the history of the eighties, both sparkling and dramatic at the same time, the proliferation of "graffiti art", the joyful imagination of Pop, but also the shadow of AIDS. Keith Haring, in just 30 years, has created a vast corpus of images and has pioneered the world of Street Art, with its expressive power, in the Contemporary Art circuit, inside galleries and museums. Keith Haring first attracted the attention of the general public by drawing with chalk on the billboards of the New York subway and the easy accessibility to his visual alphabet and the positive message of universal love have been a winning choice, for the spread of his fame, in the long run.

The exhibition is intended to commemorate the profoundly innovative value of the work of this artist, who has left his mark all over the world with his unique and transversal visual language. Through his unique, highly iconic language, Keith Haring has communicated his vision of reality to the world, travelling, putting his creativity at the service of society, creating works of enormous impact and international resonance.
